Finding a good place to play

Before you can become a great player at any game, there are a few things that seem really small, but can greatly affect how well you play. Throughout this I will cover several of these and how you can make yourself a better player by making use of them.

When I was first learning how to play, I made the mistake of having several distractions around me. Usually these things are noises and pictures. The best way of solving that is just turning off anything in the room other than your game. If people are causing the problem, just use headphones. This will help keep you focused on the game and not on something else. Even a quick glance away will slow down your game and put you at a disadvantage to anyone your playing with.

Its good to have a full 'belly' when you go to play. Most people dont think it really counts as a distraction, but I do. You dont want to be thinking about food while your playing your game. It really slows down what you are doing and makes it hard to focus on your game. Also, if you were hungry for about an hour, then it makes your mind kind of 'foggy' or 'light-headed'. This keeps you from thinking straight and really makes you a bad player.

Also, dont sit on a bad chair. This is one thing people really don't consider. But it's true, the more comfortable you are while you are playing your game the better you can concentrate on what you are doing.

If you really want to play good, don't play when you are tired. This makes you a real bad player. You might not notice it, but it makes you by far worse compaired to when you are wide awake.

These things are just mostly common sense, and apply to most any game. Making sure you dont have any type of distractions at all will improve your game quite a bit.
